The University of Florida is among the top ten public universities in the United States. Research in the biological sciences at the University of Florida is conducted by faculty in many departments and across several Colleges and Institutes, providing a rich intellectual environment and extensive opportunities for collaboration. UF has broad strengths in research in ecology, evolutionary biology, and specifically in EEID. Collaborative research in infectious diseases at UF extends across the Emerging Pathogens Institute, the UF Genetics Institute, the Florida Climate Institute, the Center for Statistics and Quantitative Infectious Diseases, and NIH and CDC supported Centers of Excellence in infectious diseases.
The University of Florida counts among its greatest strengths – and a major component of its excellence – that it values broad diversity in its faculty, students and staff and creates a robust, inclusive and welcoming climate for learning, research and other work.
