1.2. A Sociedade Brasileira de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional (SBMAC) tem o prazer de anunciar a abertura do período de submissão de propostas para o Congresso Nacional de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional (CNMAC) de 2025. O evento é considerado o mais importante no campo da Matemática Aplicada e Computacional no Brasil e na América Latina.
O CNMAC tem como objetivo reunir professores, pesquisadores e profissionais de diversas instituições, incluindo universidades, centros de pesquisa e empresas, para apresentar e debater os resultados mais recentes de suas pesquisas e projetos em andamento. O evento proporciona um fórum de discussão e aprendizado, além de promover a interação entre os líderes da área e novos talentos.
O programa do CNMAC abrange uma ampla variedade de atividades, incluindo minicursos, minissimpósios, conferências, sessões técnicas de comunicações orais, sessões de painéis gerais e painéis de iniciação científica. Além disso, são oferecidas sessões especiais focadas no Ensino, com atividades especialmente desenhadas para professores do ensino básico.
O período de submissão de propostas estará aberto de 14 de outubro de 2024 até 13 de dezembro de 2024.
1.3. Prêmios de iniciação e pós-graduação da SBMAC
A SBMAC tem uma longa tradição no reconhecimento de trabalhos de excelência, nas diversas áreas de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional, realizados por estudantes nas categorias Iniciação Científica, Mestrado e Doutorado.
O prêmio na categoria Iniciação Científica homenageia a Profa. Beatriz Neves e os prêmios de Pós-Graduação, nas categorias Mestrado e Doutorado, homenageiam o Prof. Clóvis Caesar Gonzaga e o Prof. Marco Antonio Raupp, respectivamente.
A edição 2025 destina-se a trabalhos concluídos no período de 1º de abril de 2024 a 31 de março de 2025 que satisfaçam as exigências previstas no Regulamento Geral.
O prazo para a submissão de candidaturas estará aberto entre os dias 19 de dezembro de 2024 a 22 de abril de 2025.

1.4. Estão abertas as inscrições para submissão de propostas de minicursos para o ERMAC 2025 da Regional 11- Paraná da SBMAC.
O evento ocorrerá de 05/05/2025 a 07/05/2025, na Universidade Estadual de Maringá – UEM em Maringá-PR.
O período de inscrições é de 07/10/2024 a 04/11/2024 e pode ser feito por este link.
As propostas encaminhadas serão apreciadas pelo comitê organizador e a divulgação das propostas que foram aceitas ocorrerá a partir de 09 de dezembro de 2024.

1.5. O XII Encontro Regional de Matemática Aplicada e Computacional do Rio Grande do Sul (ERMAC-RS) será realizado entre os dias 02 e 04 de julho de 2025 no Instituto de Matemática e Estatística (IME) da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Campus do Vale em Porto Alegre – RS.

2.1. Estão abertas as inscrições para submissão de trabalhos para 3ª Conferência Internacional de Matemática Aplicada e Simulação Digital – AMDS 2024 (International Conference on Applied Mathematics and Digital Simulation), a ser realizado nos dias 30 e 31 de dezembro de 2024, em Beijing, China.
As atividades serão coordenadas pelo pesquisador Jiang Zhu do Laboratório Nacional de Computação Científica.

3.1. The College of Science at Virginia Tech is seeking applications for an open rank tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position with research expertise in Invasive Species Modeling and/or Environmental Data Science to join the VT Invasive Species Collaborative. The position will be located in either the Department of Mathematics or the Department of Biological Sciences, depending on the preference/expertise of the chosen applicant.

3.2. Mathematics Visiting Fellowships
The ICTP Mathematics Section offers every year a number of grants for short-term visits. The purpose of the visits is to perform research in Mathematics and in close interaction with the Section’s resident staff and visiting scientists. Short-term visits may be for a maximum period of 3 months.
Scientists from developing countries are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to requests for visits outside the summer period.
A short research plan for the expected visit at ICTP should also be added and at least one letter of recommendation is required for junior scientists, postdocs and graduate students. The letter is to be sent online separately by the referees after submission of the application.
Apply for visits to take place in the calendar year 2024.

3.4. CALL FOR PAPERS DEADLINE EXTENDED TO 15 JANUARY 2025
In connection with the 8th International Symposium on Combinatorial Optimization
Special Issue in Discrete Applied Mathematics
We are preparing a special issue of the journal Discrete Applied Mathematics devoted to the
8th International Symposium on Combinatorial Optimization (ISCO 2024) that was held in
Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain, 22-24 May 2024.
All interested researchers are invited to contribute their novel research articles to this
special issue.
Contributions arising from papers given at the symposium should be
substantially extended, and should cite the conference paper where appropriate.
Submissions of contributions not presented at the workshop are also welcome.
The topics should relate to the themes of the biennial ISCO series, for example:
– combinatorial optimization
– approximation algorithms
– cutting-planes algorithms
– polyhedral combinatorics
– computational complexity
– graph and network algorithms
– linear and nonlinear (mixed-)integer programming
All submissions will be thoroughly refereed according to the high standards of
Discrete Applied Mathematics.
